The PAL's unique after-school and out-of-school programs help kids ages 8-18 build positive relationships with police officers and adult program mentors. Here, these kids overcome their fears, find support and build their self-esteem and character as they learn challenging and fun skills.
Research shows that quality out-of-school programs can
effectively lessen gaps in academic achievement and prepare
youth for success in school and work. That’s exactly what the KCK Police Athletic League (PAL)
is cultivating with our fresh crop of
engaging activities for kids in the
urban core.
In just five years, the KCK PAL has catalyzed a renaissance of the Strawberry Hill community of downtown Kansas City, Kansas with a bevy of creative programs that have engaged more than 2,000 at-risk kids after school and on school breaks.
